Lucy and the Hawk
Lucy and the Hawk is a comedy about loneliness. It deals all at once with the impossibilities of dating, the complexities of communicating with wild animals, and the sneaking suspicion that we might be alone in the universe. It's also a love song to the landscape of Northumberland.
At its heart are two performers, trying to tell two different stories. One is about a man trying to make friends with a peregrine falcon, and the other, a woman who conducts a double life over the telephone. Perhaps one day they’ll meet. Or maybe they won’t. Certainly, at some point they’ll have to put these fantasies aside, and deal with the business of living.
The production is touring in Autumn 2012.
The Lucy and the Hawk creative team includes: performers Abigail Moffatt and Tom Walton, writer/director Phil Ormrod, and producer Beckie Darlington (for Haus Projects).
The project is supported by Arts Council England, ARC Stockton, Northern Stage and Northumbria University.
