_THIS IS HOW WE DIE_ is the debut solo show from Christopher Brett Bailey - a virtuosic and visceral spoken word performance with a live score of haunting violins and thunderous noise-rock.
Savage, surreal, hypnotic and apocalyptic, _THIS IS HOW WE DIE_ blends spoken word, storytelling, caustic humour and gutter philosophy into a dizzying exorcism of a world that is convinced it is dying.
Filled with tales of paranoia and young love, ultra-violence and pitch-black humour - a spiralling odyssey of nightmarish prose. With echoes of Lenny Bruce, William Burroughs, beat poetry and B-movies, _THIS IS HOW WE DIE_ is a prime slice of surrealist trash and a blood-soaked love letter to the depraved, the depressed and the death-obsessed.
Written and performed by Christopher Brett Bailey.
Winner of the Arches Brick Award 2014 and a OffWestEnd Award 2015.

Some audience responses to the show:
Staggered out of THIS IS HOW WE DIE. Go and let that poisonous honey voice drip all over you @Ovalhouse @ct_bailey
THIS IS HOW WE DIE @ct_bailey lifted me off the ground and threw me at the wall and i’m still shaking from the thrill of it. Mindblown.
Saw Christopher Brett Bailey at the Ovalhouse. No point in anyone else doing that kind of thing ever again, basically.
And JESUS CHRIST, @ct_bailey’s “This Is How We Die” is a furiously brilliant thing - bizarre, heart-wrenching, incandescent.
If you have one spare night this week, please, please, PLEASE go and see This Is How We Die at @Ovalhouse, exhausting and epic theatre.
“I think I’ve just been reborn” said the man behind me after @ct_bailey’s This Is How We Die at @Ovalhouse tonight. I’m just lost for words.
